How it works

1. You set it up and choose the questions. Pick from gentle prompts or let Longhand suggest ones tailored to your parent's life. They receive just one a day.
2. They write by hand. On real paper, the way they always have. A photo is all it takes — Longhand keeps the page and transcribes every word so it stays readable and searchable forever.
3. You receive their stories. Each answer arrives as it's written, building an archive of a life. Read it on your phone, then call to talk about it.

Why handwriting, not typing

A typed message disappears into a thread. A page in your mother's handwriting is a keepsake — the loops, the crossings-out, the press of the pen.
